Who is DCI, Inc. and what do you manufacture? DCI, Inc., an employee-owned company, is a world leader in the manufacturing and servicing of both factory and field-fabricated stainless steel storage and processing tanks. Proudly serving the food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical and cosmetic industries, DCI has remained true to our commitment to quality since 1955 through our design and fabrication services. DCI also offers a variety of components including manway assemblies, agitation systems, dimple jackets, heads, and cylinders for replacement/modification applications and the OEM industry. DCI has corporate offices and a production facility centrally located in St. Cloud, Minnesota as well as a production facility in Ozark, Missouri. What do you offer for hydroformed heads? DCI’s new head press produces hydroformed heads in capacities ranging from 16 gauge sheet through 3/8” plate material and sizes ranging from 12” through 156” diameter. Heads are available in alloys including stainless steel, carbon steel, Hastelloy®, Inconel®, and aluminum. See components brochure or hydroformed head chart for more information.

What does DCI require to design a tank and agitator? As a minimum the basic information that is required to design a tank and agitator are product data (specific gravity and viscosity), design and operating pressures/temperatures, size restrictions if any, code requirements, nozzles required, and heating/cooling requirements. Further information such as any special requirements, process descriptions, attachments, valving, agitation requirements, etc. will result in a tank exactly meeting your specific needs.

What does DCI require to quote a head? The minimum requirements include: inside or outside diameter, knuckle radius, straight flange, material thickness, material type, weld finishes, and inside/outside finishes.

What is required to locate parts and components for my tank? In most cases a serial number or a job number is required to track part numbers. Since our stainless steel tanks are custom-fabricated we need a serial number, job number, order number, or a drawing number to find the correct part for a specific job.

How do I return a part or component for credit or repair? In order to return a part or component for credit or repair you must contact a parts customer service representative for a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number. The RGA is then assigned to the part for tracking and receiving purposes. If the part is being sent back for a credit, there may be a 30% restocking fee, which will apply to the amount being credited. If a part is non-stock, then it is non-returnable, therefore it will not be accepted back and no credit will be issued.

What head types does DCI offer?

How is a hydroformed head different from a cold formed or “bumped” head? The dish of a hydroformed head is inflated and formed using high-pressure water or compressed air. Cold formed heads are shaped by forming a flat plate into a dish by making small bumps via many passes over the entire head. Does DCI accept credit card payments? No, not at this point in time, but DCI does intend to offer credit card services in the near future.

Is there a minimum order dollar amount? Yes, the minimum order dollar amount is $50.00.

Does DCI repair broken agitator shafts on prop and shaft assemblies? Yes. DCI can repair broken or bent agitator shafts on prop and shaft assemblies by attaching a new shaft. This process also involves services to rebalance and reface the prop and shaft assembly once the shaft is attached. DCI can restore your prop and shaft assembly for almost half the cost of a new one! To send prop and shaft assemblies back for repair, please contact a parts customer service representative for a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number and for more details on price and shipping.

I have not received my order from DCI, how do I track the order? Contact a parts customer service representative with your original purchase order number and he/she will get the tracking number associated with your order and track it for you!

Does DCI offer
optional tank cleaning systems? We are proud to announce our newest tank cleaning option: the DCI Upward Spray system. The system, with primary and secondary internal vent lines, performs all CIP (Clean-in-Place) operations without requiring access to the top of the tank. To our customers, this means a cost savings, as the additional purchase of external ladders, walkways, and cages is eliminated. An added savings benefit of the internal lines is the elimination of insulation and heat tape for the lines; lines are internal and therefore are always the same temperature as the tank. Another advantage to the DCI Upward Spray system is a more compact design. Due to the internal lines, alcove size is made shallower, allowing customer space savings in their facility. The design is currently available in sizes ranging up to 40,000 gallon silo tanks; additional sizes are available upon review of customer specifications. The Upward Spray system is USDA accepted for use in 3-A silos tanks. While DCI still offers its traditional CIP design, we are pleased to add yet another option to our line of quality products.
