FAQ

Typical? What’s that? While there are some tasks that are repetitive, each position at DCI, Inc. offers some sort of variety since we work with a wide variety of companies servicing different needs and are engineered to order. No two days are alike (and we like it that way).

We offer three different shifts for fabricators in the shop. We are a union shop and do have set shifts, but we try and work with your needs and schedule:

  • M-Th 5:30am-4:00pm (with OT worked on Fridays 6:30am-11:30am)
  • M-F 7:30am-4:00pm (with OT starting at 6:30am M-F)
  • M-Th 4:00pm-2:30am (with OT staying until 3:30am M-Th).
  • In the office, hours are flexible and depend on the needs of the department. Core hours may be established.

Night shift receives an extra $1.00/hour shift differential pay. After all, if you are working until 2:30 am there has to be a benefits!

Obviously, in the manufacturing world, all fabricator positions in the shop work onsite, after all, these positions require working with your hands, and that’s exactly the kind of work these employees are looking for!

While there is some flexibility for most office positions, most positions do require working onsite the majority of the time. We find that the collaboration with others in the office brings out the best in all of us. Inquire for more details during the interview process if you are interested in this.

Absolutely, every day provides a day to learn on the job. From formal classes on print-reading and other topics to mentorship from co-workers, we believe everyone has more to learn. We have even developed special training for employees who have specific training needs.

For most shop fabrication positions, no. We want to make the application process as simple as possible. But if you have a resume – feel free to send it to us at jobs@dciinc.com.

Sure, as long as you can complete the essential functions of the job you are applying for, we are willing to consider your application. If you need an accommodation for the application process, let us know.

To work as a fabricator in the shop you must be 18 – this is for safety reasons.
For office positions, each position outlines required skills and abilities and hiring is based on those items.
